Certified athletic trainers (ATC) are skilled professionals specializing in athletic health care.
ATC's provide medical care for the athlete, assess injuries and administer first aid.
The duties of ATC's include: prevention of injury, injury assessment and evaluation, sport specific rehab, functional testing, strengthening and conditioning.
As specialists in the prevention, recognition and rehabilitation of injuries incurred by athletes, ATC's administer immediate emergency care and under the supervision of a physician, develop treatment programs based on medical, exercise and sports sciences.
